there are 98 e-mails in my inbox about differential equations. 
specifically, why an engineering school should/should not teach
differential equations to computer science majors. the most frequently
used line is, and I paraphrase, 'in all my X years of
programming/beating off at work/teaching CS, I have never had the need
for differential equations, so let's replace it with another course.'
Fine, but when we get down to it, what else should be replaced? Why do
I give a shit?  this was supposed to be a rant about not getting laid,
and instead, it's about some shit some assholes care enough to send me
98 messages about.  fuck it. i'm going to bed. alone.
